Physical Therapist Assistant IER's National
Physical Therapist Assistant Examination The text has been updated to reflect the new 2008 NPTE Content Outline and tables
and figures have been included to aid in studying for the exam. New
content and practice questions have been added in many areas including:
the integumentary system, the gastrointestinal system, the metabolic/endrocine system,
evidence-based practice, and therapeutic exercise foundations . Throughout
the text an increased emphasis has been placed on patient reactions and
physical therapy interventions.
Karen Ryan has collaborated with nationally known authors such as
Dr. Susan O’Sullivan to update IER’s 2008 NPTAE Review and Study Guide.
Susan O’Sullivan, PT, EdD, is the Program Director of Physical Therapy
at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and co-authored the widely know
text Physical Rehabilitation 5th edition.
Karen Ryan, PTA, is an instructor and author for IER. She has been a
